Riviera Nayarit Among the Best Destinations in the World to Visit in 2026
Riviera Nayarit shines once again on the international tourism map. The prestigious magazine Condé Nast Traveler has included this Pacific paradise in its list of “The Best Places to Go in North America & the Caribbean 2026”, naming it the only Mexican beach destination featured in this exclusive ranking.
The list, published on November 4, highlights the top travel destinations that will set the trend in the coming year.
Ecotourism, Luxury, and World-Class Cuisine
Condé Nast Traveler praised Riviera Nayarit for its perfect balance between tourism development, natural beauty, and sustainable luxury. Stretching along more than 200 miles of golden coastline, the destination offers everything from charming seaside towns and untouched beaches to world-class resorts and eco-luxury experiences.
The publication also emphasized the region’s improved connectivity and infrastructure, which are set to boost tourism even further. The Tepic–Riviera Nayarit International Airport will soon open new routes from Vancouver, Calgary, and Houston. Additionally, Volaris now offers a direct flight from Los Angeles to Tepic, and a new highway between Tepic and Nuevo Nayarit will reduce travel time by an hour.
Luxury Resorts and New Openings
Riviera Nayarit continues to elevate its hospitality scene with spectacular new properties, including:
- Rosewood Mandarina, inaugurated in May 2025.
- Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, opening in late 2025.
- One&Only Mandarina, which recently unveiled a golf course designed by Greg Norman.
A Destination for Fine Dining Lovers
Riviera Nayarit also strengthens its position as a culinary hotspot, featuring top restaurants led by world-renowned chefs:
- Rubra, the latest creation of Mexican chef Daniela Soto-Innes, in Punta de Mita.
- Carao, by celebrated chef Enrique Olvera, at One&Only Mandarina.
- Toppu, a Japanese fusion concept by Diego Muñoz and José Mascarós, at Rosewood Mandarina.
