It was the first Magical Town of Nayarit, known for the beauty of its historical buildings and picturesque neighborhood houses. It is also surrounded by enormous hills and cliffs that give a magical feeling to its visitors, especially during the rainy season when the entire landscape turns green.

It is situated at the foot of El Ceboruco, an active volcano that delights hikers and explorers. Jala is also home to the world’s largest corn cob, and its residents celebrate this with a contest, presenting corn cobs measuring over 45 centimeters.

This municipality is part of the tourist corridor in the southern part of the state, and it can be visited alongside Ahuacatlán, Ixtlán del Río, and Amatlán de Cañas.
