During recent years, the tourist areas of this land are no longer only limited to those related to the beach, but also those that seek to preserve their cultures, traditions, gastronomy and identity.
For national tourism, Nayarit has positioned itself as a must-see stop in sun and beach destinations. In addition to the project of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, the state of Nayarit has sought to promote the most picturesque settings found in its corners, enhancing them through the Magical Towns program and, to date, achieving the designation of nine sites that promote culture.
Sea and tradition
If there is something that identifies Nayarit, it is its coasts and natural landscapes that, with crystal-clear waters and highly comfortable hotels, are part of the favorite places nationwide.
However, in recent months, other scenarios of warmth and beach, where the atmosphere of locality and tradition take over the taste of tourists, have come to light. These are the Magic Towns of Sayulita, Mexcaltitán Island, San Blas and Puerto Balleto (in the Marías Islands), where traditions go hand in hand with the tourist, taking them to an experience that makes them relive the historical events of each one. from them. From the mythical departure of the Mexica people towards the founding of Greater Tenochtitlan, to the former federal prison where characters like José Revueltas were detained, each of these places is worth knowing, visiting and recommending.
